LINEAR SPRING APPLICATIONS

The concept of the spring constant or stiffness is extremely important in a number of fields. These include aeroelasticity, where wings or rotor blades are often represented as beams in bending and beams in torsion with an associated stiffness. It is also important in stability analysis, where a certain level of positive stiffness in the system is important for stability.
