Vibrating String
VIBRATING STRING APPLICATIONS
Besides being a useful from building a mathematical understanding of the wave equation, it also offers practical value. “Vibrating Strings” are used in many musical instruments, for example pianos, violins, guitars, harps, and cellos. Cables in tension are also commonly found in structures, which can be thought of as “vibrating strings”.
Vibrating strings have implications and uses far out of the ordinary. Many physists today believe that small particles may actually behave as vibrating strings in what is known as string theory.
